The discipline "Technology of structural materials and materials science" is a basic discipline that forms students' readiness to use general technical knowledge to solve professional problems in the profile of training.

The purpose of mastering the discipline "Technology of structural materials and materials science" is the formation of knowledge and skills in the selection of modern materials and methods of their processing.

Objectives of studying the discipline:

- mastering the basic concepts, terms in various sections of materials science;

- mastering the mechanical, physical, technological properties of materials, including polymer and composite;

- the formation of skills in choosing a structural material for a specific part (product), knowing the physical nature of the phenomena that occur in materials under the influence of various factors in the process of production and operation;

- the formation of basic knowledge on the development of theory and practice for various methods of processing materials, ensuring the operational reliability and durability of machine parts;
